Rhinoceros (Rhino) is a stand-alone, commercial NURBS-based 3-D modeling tool, developed by Robert McNeel & Associates. The software is commonly used for industrial design, architecture, marine design, jewelry design, automotive design, CAD / CAM, rapid prototyping, reverse engineering as well as the multimedia and graphic design industries.

Terms & Conditions
Educational licenses are not transferable and cannot be shared or transferred to another user or entity.
Each license key is a single (1) User license.
Rhino Educational License Packs contain thirty (30) single User licenses.
McNeel's eligibility conditions for purchase are based on current academic affiliation -- no retirees or alumni. Operationally, sponsored affiliates or temps could purchase at the TCAUP Media Center if provided a currently valid MCard.
PERMITTED:
- Executing (running) this software remotely
- Use for U-M coursework for courses in which the student is enrolled and will receive a grade
- PhD thesis work
- Use by students to perform non-commercial research to complete coursework
- Use by faculty to perform non-commercial research
- Use by regular employees to perform non-commercial research
- Use by students for commercial research
- Use by faculty for commercial research
- Use by regular employees for commercial research
- Use by student teams for co-curricular activities, programs, and learning experiences

NOT PERMITTED:
- Use by visiting scholars
- Use for instructional purposes by non-UM users, such as a visiting instructor teaching a one-time course in a training room
Consortium/Funding Info
The Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning (TCAUP) Media Center is an authorized reseller for Rhino at U-M. Single-copy educational purchases must be made in-person; the Media Center is at 2115 Art & Architecture Building on North Campus; hours are posted here. Educational License Packs can be ordered with a University short code using TCAUP's order form. The order form uses Shibboleth for authentication, and the purchaser first needs to be granted access to order Rhino. Send a ticket to TCAUP's help desk for access by writing to [email protected].
