JMP Student Edition (formerly JMP Pro)

JMP is a computer program that was developed to perform simple and complex statistical analyses. It dynamically links statistics with graphics to interactively explore, understand, and visualize data. This allows you to click on any point in a graph, and see the corresponding data point highlighted in the data table, and other graphs.

In 2025, the company changed their approach to working with Higher Education and now only offers JMP Student Edition for students, instructors, and academic researchers at no cost. Refer to the Consortium/Funding Info field below for additional details.

Consortium/Funding Info

JMP Student Edition is a no cost single-user license for current students, instructors, and academic researchers. Click the Get JMP For Free button to get started with a license request. All interactions with regards to JMP will need to route through the publisher (JMP Statistical Discovery, LLC). U-M staff are not able to distribute these licenses.

The publisher would not renew the university's former JMP Pro site license in 2025, and now only offers the student license for academia. The student license reportedly contains all the same features as the former Pro license, and can be used by faculty and research staff for instructional and noncommercial research use. Unfortunately there is not a way to install the student license in U-M computer labs.
