Nastran

Nastran, formerly by MSC, is a multidisciplinary structural analysis application used by engineers to perform static, dynamic, and thermal analysis across the linear and nonlinear domains, complemented with automated structural optimization and award winning embedded fatigue analysis technologies, all enabled by high performance computing.

How to Get or Use This Software

CAEN Computer Labs

College of Engineering students can use this software at a CAEN computer lab.
  • There are 2 versions of MSC Adams available in the CAEN Labs.  One version can be used for academic research, and the other version can be used for student instruction.

 

  • This software may only be used on campus.

  • Use by student teams for co-curricular activities, programs, and learning experiences
  • Instructional use, using proprietary data that will not be published
  • Use for University business not related to instruction
  • Use by visiting scholars
  • Use for instructional purposes by non-UM users, such as a visiting instructor teaching a one-time course in a training room
